The collision theory will be involved in this, for instance the more concentrated the acid we use, the faster the reaction will occur and the lower the concentration the slower the reaction will occur, this is because the collision theory says that if something is more concentrated then it will collide more because there will be more of the substance. We could use a catalyst to speed up the reaction, this allows the molecules to move around easier to help them to collide more to speed up the reaction for instance say that people are trying to get over wall it is possible but it will take a slow process and say that we add a catalyst, our catalyst is a ladder this enables the people (molecules) to get over the wall quicker and easier than they normally would.
